In this second installment of the "Dangerous Lips" series, we focus on the challenges posed by extreme "Skill" (Subnasale-Cranium-Incisal Length) measurements in lip surgery.
The "Skill" refers to the distance from the subnasale (base of the nose) to the upper teeth margin. Patients with a very long upper lip and long teeth may struggle to achieve natural results, risking an unnatural appearance or difficulty closing their lips.
Conversely, a very short skill often requires complex maxillofacial surgery to achieve balance. Surgeons should approach these cases with caution, as they require advanced expertise.
