Aging affects the entire face. Think of a sheet of snow sliding off a roof as one unit. It is not unusual to notice a descend of your brows alongside a loss of cheek volume and jowl formation. A holistic deep plane face & neck lift will therefore often require the lifting of your brows to secure a well-balanced appearance.
The upper lip elongates over time. By shortening the distance between your nose and upper lip we not only improve upper tooth show and the perception of a fuller upper lip, we also restore a youthful appearance of your perioral area.
The lips are a focal point of interpersonal communication. This improvement has a significant impact on the overall perception of your face.
Depending on your individual anatomy, we might need to address either very prominent buccal fat pads to slim your cheeks or utilise the fat and transpose them into another area of your face to enhance the contour of your cheeks.
In primary surgery this may include a shortening of elongated earlobes, in revision facelift surgeries this could include the correction of a Pixie ear deformity (a tell-tale sign of previous facelift surgery)
Your forehead might have prominent bone structures, often referred to as frontal tubercules. Usually these appear on both sides and are rarely identical in size. It is easy to contour these during your HALO surgery, as approach and recovery are almost the same.
A browlift can enhance the proportions of your upper facial third. About a third of our HALO patients love to combine their hairline advancement with a lifting of their eyebrows.
The lip lift enhances the appearance of the central part of the upper lip. In selected cases, the corners of the mouth could be droopy requiring an additional corner lift, or the lateral segment of the lips (described as the wings) could be too thin – an indication for a wing lift.
Enhancing lip volume can be a desired outcome, depending on your lip anatomy as well as your aesthetic goals, we can choose from different options to create long-lasting plump results.
Autografts (e.g. dermal fat graft or temporalis fascia graft) describe the application of the patients own tissue as implants into their lips. V-Y-Plasty is a technique which pushes the inside mucosa out, thereby increasing lip volume.
During your consultation Prof. Bran will assess your lips and advise you, which solution will be best for you.
Patients often notice a heaviness or fullness of their upper eyelids, complaining about a moody or tired appearance. This can be partially caused by a descend of the brow (brow ptosis) or tissue fullness in the upper lid.
To address this you might benefit from upper eyelid surgery which will restore a youthful (and well rested) appearance.
